The Insects in Ecosystems Lab is a collaborative and multidisciplinary group of academics and students exploring the roles of insects in the world around us. Our work spans ecology, biodiversity conservation, forensic entomology, and environmental science, and is united by a common focus on insects.

We study how insects shape ecosystems, from insect-plant interactions to decomposition, nutrient cycling, biodiversity patterns, and forensic entomology. Our research combines fieldwork, laboratory studies, and experiments to understand the ecological processes insects drive and their impacts on both natural systems and human society.
